the Artists

LaTeisha Melvin is a multi-faceted Baltimore-based artist, with a passion for dance and a dedication to honing her craft. A graduate of the esteemed Baltimore School for the Arts, she holds a BFA in Dance and Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University and has established herself as a sought-after dance choreographer and instructor, known for her innovative and dynamic approach to movement and pedagogy. LaTeisha has appeared on  SYTYCD, performed at the Apollo, and has had work presented in DC, Wisconsin, and NY. As a performer, her physicality and technical prowess have captured the attention of audiences and are a reflection of her passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the art of dance. As an educator with a wealth of experience in fostering learning environments that inspire and nurture students of all ages, LaTeisha engages through movement at an array of studios and schools, demonstrating a unique ability to adapt to various educational settings and meet the diverse needs of their students.

With an unbridled enthusiasm for the art form, LaTeisha curated theEnsemble Dance Collective, a platform that showcases diverse talent and catalyzes artistic exploration and growth. The collective, a fusion of artists, cultures and contemporary styles, encapsulating the complexities of the human experience and connection, through movement; aims to create a space where the physicality of the dancers and the emotive narrative of the choreography merge seamlessly, evoking a sense of unity and introspection. LaTeisha’s choreography embodies the resounding essence of the theENSEMBLE, a community celebrating the collective strength and beauty of collaboration in the realm of dance.
